
EWPA Yellow Card – Trailer Lift Class
Course Overview
As part of their “duty of care” an employer has to provide staff with a safe workplace. The Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations states that operators of plant equipment must undergo activity based instruction and training.
A Yellow Card provides ‘evidence of training’ for the following equipment: Trailer Lift Under 11 metre The course structure is for Trailer Lifts in general, delivering a broad overview.
Prerequisites
- To be a minimum of 16 years of age
- To understand and speak the English language at a level that enables the safe performance and understanding of Legislation and obligations
- To obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Please visit www.usi.gov.au and ensure you have at least one form of identification
- Must supply your own machine

How do I enrol?
- Our Enrolment Form is required to be completed and sent to our office prior to receiving any course confirmation.
See Support Tab for our enrolment form. - A Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills test will be required for each student.
- All courses require the full amount to be paid prior to make a successful booking. Applicants will be advised of the amount at the time of the booking. Corporate clients, following a successful credit reference check, will be forwarded an authority to invoice on the term of a 14 day account. Facilities include Credit Card, EFTPOS or Cash. What do I need to bring?
- You must supply one form of photo identification
- Wear comfortable, practical clothing and enclosed footwear (you will not be permitted in with thongs or open footwear)
- Lunch (There is a café nearby and a regular coffee van visit. Free Tea, Coffee, Water & Biscuits are provided)
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the commencement of training
Training and Assessment
Theory and practical demonstrations.
Re-Assessment
Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training.
Licences and Certification
All participants meeting the assessment criteria will be issued an Elevating Work Platform Association ‘Trained Operator’ Yellow Photo Card, specific to the type of EWP you have been trained in the use of i.e. Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, Vertical Lift, Trailer Lift or Truck Mount.
Applicants under 18 years of age will have a Restricted Yellow Card issued, marked with an ‘R’. The restriction will only allow the Operator to operate an EWP under direct supervision of an Unrestricted (over 18) Yellow Card holder of the same EWP class.
Cancellations and Withdrawals
In the event of cancellation or withdrawal:
- Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment more than 10 days prior to the commencement of a program will be entitled to a full refund of fees paid.
- Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment less than 10 days prior to the commencement of a program will be entitled to a 75% refund of fees paid. The amount retained (25%) by Achieve Training and Assessment Services is required to cover the costs of administration and resources which will have already been committed based on the students initial intention to undertake the training.
- Students who cancel their enrolment within 1 full business day prior program commencement OR after a training program has commenced will not be entitled to a refund of fees.
If Achieve Training and Assessment Services cancels the training course, and is not rescheduling then a full refund will be returned to the payer.
