TLILIC0022 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes)
Course Overview
This course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes) for licensing purposes. It encompasses the requirement for non-slewing mobile crane licence and the vehicle loading crane licence, as prescribed by the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.
On completion of this program participants will be able to effectively communicate and work safely with others in the work area, risk assessment and management procedures, mathematical procedures for estimation of loads, plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up crane, transfer loads, mobile loads, and shut down and secure the crane.
This unit is based on the requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work and provides applicants with the knowledge and skills required to obtain a High Risk Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane up to 20 tonnes.
Prerequisites
- To be a minimum of 18 years of age
- To understand and speak the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk work
- To obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Please visit www.usi.gov.au and ensure you have at least one form of identification
Duration
5 X 7 Hour days.
Note: If proof of recent operation of a mobile slewing crane can be supplied (past C2 Licence, 3rd party reports etc) a shorter course can be offered.

How do I enrol?
- Our Enrolment Form is required to be completed and sent to our office prior to receiving any course confirmation.
See Support Tab for our enrolment form. - A Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills test will be required for each student.
- You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course
- All courses require the full amount to be paid prior to make a successful booking. Applicants will be advised of the amount at the time of the booking. Corporate clients, following a successful credit reference check, will be forwarded an authority to invoice on the term of a 14 day account. Facilities include Credit Card, EFTPOS or Cash. What do I need to bring?
- You must supply 100 points of identification, including (1) form of current photo identification, proof of NSW address, Signature & Date of Birth (see Evidence of Identity requirements below)
- Wear comfortable, practical clothing and enclosed footwear (you will not be permitted in with thongs or open footwear)
- Lunch (There is a café nearby and a regular coffee van visit. Free Tea, Coffee, Water & Biscuits are provided)
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the commencement of training
Training and Assessment
Three (3) assessments will be conducted over the duration of the course – (formative assessment) Knowledge, Calculations and Practical Assessments. On the last day of the course a summative assessment will be conducted by an approved State regulatory body assessor (e.g. SafeWork NSW).Re-Assessment
Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training.Licences and Certification
This is a Nationally Recognised Training course and applicants deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0022 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes) and the appropriate Licensing Body’s – Licence to Perform High Risk Work Application form.
This application is to be lodged at Australia Post which incurs and additional cost of $90.00 and payable to Australia Post within 60 days along with a passport photo.
If you fail to lodge your High Risk Work Application form into Australia Post within 60 days of assessment completion, there will be an extra cost of $160 to retake your SafeWork NSW summative assessment and to obtain a new High Risk Work Licence Application.

Cancellations and Withdrawals
In the event of cancellation or withdrawal:
- Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment more than 10 days prior to the commencement of a program will be entitled to a full refund of fees paid.
- Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment less than 10 days prior to the commencement of a program will be entitled to a 75% refund of fees paid. The amount retained (25%) by Achieve Training and Assessment Services is required to cover the costs of administration and resources which will have already been committed based on the students initial intention to undertake the training.
- Students who cancel their enrolment within 1 full business day prior program commencement OR after a training program has commenced will not be entitled to a refund of fees.
If Achieve Training and Assessment Services cancels the training course, and is not rescheduling then a full refund will be returned to the payer.
