TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
Course Overview
This unit specifies the outcomes required to operate a boom type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) for licensing purposes, and involves the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform for which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work. The 11 metre boom length shall be taken to mean the greater of the following:
a) The vertical distance form the floor of the platform to the surface supporting the elevating work platform with the platform at its maximum height; or
b) The normal reach, measured horizontally from the centre point of rotation to the outer edge of the platform in its most extended position.
On successful completion of this course you will enhance your chance of employment in warehouse , construction or the rail industry as a elevating work platform operator.

Prerequisites
- To be a minimum of 18 years of age
- To understand and speak the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk work
- To obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Please visit www.usi.gov.au and ensure you have at least one form of identification
- To complete an online e-learning component prior to attending your scheduled course. Details emailed on successful enrolment.

Duration
3 X 7 Hour days.
Note: If proof of recent operation of a EWP can be supplied (past EWP Licence, 3rd party reports etc) a two day course can be offered.
Note: If you are to complete the two day course, you would be required to attend the second and third days only.

How do I enrol?
- Our Enrolment Form is required to be completed and sent to our office prior to receiving any course confirmation.
See Support Tab for our enrolment form. - A Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills test will be required for each student.
- You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course
- All courses require the full amount to be paid prior to make a successful booking. Applicants will be advised of the amount at the time of the booking. Corporate clients, following a successful credit reference check, will be forwarded an authority to invoice on the term of a 14 day account. Facilities include Credit Card, EFTPOS or Cash. Wear comfortable, practical clothing and steel cap boots (you will not be permitted in with thongs or open footwear)

Lunch (There is a regular coffee van visit at morning tea. Free Tea, Coffee, Water & Biscuits are provided)

Training and Assessment
Three (3) assessments will be conducted over the duration of the course – (formative assessment) Knowledge, Calculations and Practical Assessments. On the last day of the course a summative assessment will be conducted by an approved State regulatory body assessor (e.g. SafeWork NSW).Re-Assessment
Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training.Licences and Certification
This is a Nationally Recognised Training course and applicants deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) and be sent the appropriate Licensing Body’s – Licence to Perform High Risk Work Notice of Summary Assessment (NSA).
This application is to be lodged at Services NSW which incurs an additional cost of $90.00 and payable to Service NSW online within 60 days along with a passport photo.
If you fail to lodge your High Risk Work Notice of Summary Assessment (NSA) to Service NSW within 60 days of assessment completion, there will be an extra cost of $160 to retake your SafeWork NSW summative assessment and to obtain a new High Risk Work Licence Notice of Summary Assessment (NSA).
