EWPA Yellow Card – Boom Lift below 11 metres Class
Course Overview
As part of their “duty of care” an employer has to provide staff with a safe workplace. The Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations states that operators of plant equipment must undergo activity based instruction and training.
A Yellow Card provides ‘evidence of training’ for the following equipment: Boom Lift and Knuckle Boom (under 11m)
Prerequisites
To undertake the EWPA Yellow Card – Boom Lift below 11 metres Class, you will need:
- To be a minimum of 16 years of age
- To understand and speak the English language at a level that enables the safe performance and understanding of Legislation and obligations
- To obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Please visit www.usi.gov.au and ensure you have at least one form of identification

Course Cost $400.00 Unanderra (Scissor Lift can be completed on the same day for $100 more)
All courses require the full amount to be paid prior to make a successful booking. Applicants will be advised of the amount at the time of the booking. Corporate clients, following a successful credit reference check, will be forwarded an authority to invoice on the term of a 14 day account. Facilities include Credit Card, EFTPOS or Cash. - Work Safely near powerlines
- Use of Operators Logbook
- Safety Harness fitting and use
- Identify compliance plates
- Conduct Pre Operational checks
- Practical Safe Operation
- Emergency Descent Procedures
- Verbal/Written and Practical Assessment
How do I enrol?
- Our Enrolment Form is required to be completed and sent to our office prior to receiving any course confirmation.
See Support Tab for our enrolment form. - A Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills test will be required for each student.

What do I need to bring?
- You must supply one form of photo identification
- Wear comfortable, practical clothing and enclosed footwear (you will not be permitted in with thongs or open footwear)
- Lunch (There is a café nearby and a regular coffee van visit. Free Tea, Coffee, Water & Biscuits are provided)
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the commencement of training
Training and Assessment
Theory and practical demonstrations.
Re-Assessment
Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training.
Note: There is no extra cost for this extra training or reassessment
Licences and Certification
This is a Nationally Recognised Training course and applicants deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform.
A wallet size competency card will also be issued.
Cancellations and Withdrawals
In the event of cancellation or withdrawal:
- Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment more than 10 days prior to the commencement of a program will be entitled to a full refund of fees paid.
- Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment less than 10 days prior to the commencement of a program will be entitled to a 75% refund of fees paid. The amount retained (25%) by Achieve Training and Assessment Services is required to cover the costs of administration and resources which will have already been committed based on the students initial intention to undertake the training.
- Students who cancel their enrolment within 1 full business day prior program commencement OR after a training program has commenced will not be entitled to a refund of fees.
If Achieve Training and Assessment Services cancels the training course, and is not rescheduling then a full refund will be returned to the payer.
